An Armchair, Model No. 329 Variant
designed c. 1906–1910, manufactured by J.& J. Kohn, Vienna Ebonised bent beech, black leather upholstery with brass tacks, bentwood stretchers, and an applied brass plaque inscribed “Zeebrugge Mole.”A refined and architectural chair from the early Vienna Secession period, displaying Hoffmann’s characteristic rectilinear geometry and the distinctive diamond-form lattice to each side. Conceived in parallel with the celebrated Fledermausseries. The chair remains in original finish with authentic J.& J. Kohn label to the underside.
The presence of the Zeebrugge Mole plate suggests an early 20th-century commission for a port or naval installation at Zeebrugge, Belgium — a notable example of Kohn’s international supply network during the final years of the Austro-Hungarian empire

Dimensions: 74 x 57 x 52

Provenance
Commissioned for administrative interiors at the Zeebrugge Mole, Belgium (by repute)
