Ciancimino
A large table from the Clover series by Georges Ciancimino, comprising a rectangular wood top set within a slender aluminium frame and raised on cylindrical aluminium legs. The construction is modular and precise, with the top visually floating within the structural perimeter. The contrast between the warm timber surface and the cool industrial frame is characteristic of Ciancimino’s approach, combining rational construction with domestic scale.
Designed by Georges Ciancimino. London circa 1970.
The Clover series was conceived as a flexible system of tables and storage elements, reflecting Ciancimino’s interest in industrial materials and modular design. Examples are held in both private and institutional collections and are representative of late 20th-century modernist furniture.
