Spiral Table Lamp (Lampo)
Painted aluminium table lamp formed as a continuous spiral shade wrapped around a central vertical support on a semi-circular base. The spiral partially encloses two internal light fittings, creating a controlled, atmospheric diffusion of light. The lamp retains its original painted surface, which survives in notably good condition and contributes to the sculptural presence of the piece.
Designed by “Ingrid Hsmarlson” (pseudonym) for New Lamp. Italy, circa 1970.
Height: 47 cm
Width: 37 cm
Notes
The name Ingrid Hsmarlson is understood to be a pseudonym used by Giuseppe Ravasio and Gianfranco Fini, who collaborated on a number of designs for New Lamp. The company was active primarily during the late 1960s and early 1970s, producing sculptural and experimental lighting in a studio-led production context.
