A striking example of post-war Italian modernist design, the coat stand constructed from a central square-section shaft in polished aluminium, surmounted by a black cap, with six sculptural branches radiating from the upper section. On a verde antico marble base.

The combination of precision-engineered aluminium and functionalist composition evokes the work of Italian designers experimenting with metal fabrication in the 1950s, producing furniture and accessories for the modern interior.

Provenance: Purchased in Milan in the 1980s since then an important private collection in London, more information on request.

Condition: Minor surface wear and light patination consistent with age; overall very good vintage condition.
