A glass vessel from the ‘A Spirale’ series designed by Carlo Scarpa, formed in translucent glass with applied spiral decoration demonstrating Scarpa’s early exploration of controlled surface movement and technical precision. The series reflects Scarpa’s interest in combining traditional Venetian glassmaking with modernist form, resulting in works that balance sculptural presence with refined material clarity.

Designed by Carlo Scarpa for Venini. Murano, design 1936, this example c1950s.

Details – Acid stamped Venini, Murano, ITALIA – Hand-blown glass with applied spiral decoration

Notes The ‘A Spirale’ series was exhibited at the 1936 Milan Triennale and the 1938 Venice Biennale and was illustrated on the cover of Domus magazine in 1938, marking an important early collaboration between Scarpa and Venini.
